Try not to count on overviews to know translation agencies well

Trying to know if Indian translation agencies are bad payers is something that may not bring you specific answers. After all, these kinds can be found everywhere. Further, it is not just about India. As some experienced Indian translators put it, there are countries like Russia, Egypt etc. that haven’t much to talk about their payment patterns.

Not everything is against the translation agencies
One of the many things that budding translators that are looking forward to work for translation agencies must keep in mind is that they are not obliged to work at low rates. As a translator, if you think you could earn more in return for your expertise, you must not think twice about going back to where you can easily look for high-paying clients.

Translation jobs at present rates are likely to stay a while so long as the quality of the delivered content is as per the standards set by the respective clients. This is not about India, Indian translators or Indian translation agencies anymore. There is a lot underneath that is fueling the whole system.

As for cases of non-payment, translators must try to sense such activities beforehand. Resort to the Blue Board from ProZ to know everything including past records of the agency in advance. In case you are a victim of non-payment yourself, you have the additional responsibility of reporting such activities to the Blue Board. Scams associated with translation agencies are common and one needs to find ways to recognize them so as to prevent becoming a victim.

More often than not, Language translation agencies India may come up with reports that may speak against them. Getting to the bottom of those reports is what is necessary for translators. This does not necessarily mean every translation agency is associated with fraudulent activities or non-payment scams. There is absolutely no point in talking in general when it comes to knowing translation agencies of a particular country better.
